After graduating from Iowa State University, Steve began his banking career in 1986 at the Alburnett office of Farmers State Bank, his family-owned bank. Steve worked at the Alburnett office for 10 years as an agricultural lender and then served as the Branch Manager of FSB's Hiawatha office for 10 years.
When Steve was selected to head up the bank's business development efforts as Senior Vice President in 2006, he relocated to the main office in Marion. Steve now serves as Executive Vice President at FSB. He also represents the third generation of the Neighbor family to serve on the FSB Board of Directors.
Steve and his wife, Amy, lead a very active life outside the bank as well. Both are active in their church, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and numerous other organizations in the community. In addition, they are the very proud parents of three daughters: Callie, Chloe and Claire.
Steve's vast experience and community involvement make him a trusted lender.
